  I  have versions of the symbols and the Mantras Used in most Reiki systems displayed in my Reiki section.  It is my intention to provide as complete a Reiki Manual as possible and to provide the information for those who may have need of it. These symbols are a part of traditional Reiki systems.  

    Many people do find that the use of symbols, mantra, and ritual does help them more effectively focus their intention.

    Some schools of Reiki Hold the symbols to be sacred and therefore to be kept secret from those who are uninitiated to Reiki. I was already familiar with most of the Reiki Symbols from other contexts before I ever encountered Reiki. They were never secret. I know that prior knowledge of the symbols  does not cause any diminishment of ability to use Reiki.   The Buddhist tradition I participated in for 30 years made a practice of showing sacred texts to people in order to  plant a seed for future enlightenment.
 The Symbols are also on my pages to provide a resource for Reiki practitioners who may want to refresh their memory  and for those people who need to be certain that the form of the symbols does not violate their religious precepts in some way.  I do strongly emphasize that you can access Reiki energy only after being attuned to it in some form.

The symbols are separate from other information so that if you wish to follow the tradition of not seeing them until or unless you receive attunements you may simply not view that page. 


Reiki Treatment does not use any  tissue manipulation or massage  and does not ever involve sexual contact of any kind under any circumstance. Unethical people have been known to abuse people under  the pretext of  spiritual , holistic and complementary healing.  Such people should be reported to authorities promptly.
